Snap-N-Trac Answers FAQ How easy is it to install Snap-N-Trac on your boat? It is as easy as installing a wall anchor in your home to hang a picture. You have to mark and drill the holes for each Trac base section, insert the screws into the Trac base anchor holes and then screw them in. Then just snap in the Snap-N-Trac modular pieces where you want them, that is it. How secure is the Snap-N-Trac Installation? It is very secure, once the Trac base sections are properly installed they will not come lose even when put under excessive stress. All installed modular pieces have been designed to break away under excessive stress without damaging Trac Base sections. What do I do if one of the modular pieces is damaged? That is easy; just email us your full name, address and the name of the damaged piece. We will mail you a replacement part of equal or greater value, without charge. How will Snap-N-Trac hold up in extreme weather conditions? All Snap-N-Trac components are molded from UV treated Polypropylene which is one of the most durable plastics available. It can withstand extreme hot & cold temperatures, is resistant to most caustic chemicals, and has been UV treated so it will not discolor, brittle or flake. How do you clean the Snap-N-Trac system? Just clean your S-N-T system when you clean your boat and with the same cleaners or stronger as required. Use the same bleaching solution on S-N-T that you use to clean up your boat seat cushions, canvas etc. Do I have to buy a new Snap-N-Trac if all I want to do is change it? Snap-N-Trac can be modified simply by adding Trac Base sections and or buying the specific modular pieces you need. Check with your local dealer or use our dealer locator function to find a dealer who can provide you with the additional pieces you need to modify your system. Is there another way to install Snap-N-Trac on my boat? Snap-N-Trac can be installed only using screws; this insures a strong reliable installation. However some boaters will first install a small sub base plate made from starboard material, teak, other hard wood, or aluminum plating, to which they will then attach their Snap-N-Trac. Can I install a Snap-N-Trac system on my Kayak? Yes, you can if your Kayak has a reliable strong structure to secure it to and a flat surface that is long enough for the system. Most Kayak anglers are very innovative, where there is a will there is a way. Snap-N-Trac makes a great Kayak milk carton accessory. Can I install a Snap-N-Trac system on my aluminum boat? Yes, you can if your aluminum boat has a flat surface that is long enough for the system. When installing Snap-N-Trac on a metal sub base you will need to use #4 stainless steel pan head machine screws. Whether you should use nylon lock nuts or not will depend on the installation. What if some of the tools and tackle I use do not fit into the modular pieces? Since the pieces are molded from plastic, you can modify their use by drilling or cutting them to fit the tool or tackle you want it to hold. This will work for most but not all tools and tackle you may use. Can I hot glue or epoxy the modular pieces to the Trac Base sections? Polypropylene plastic cannot be glued together using over the counter products. While these products can be used to fill voids between the Trac base section and installed pieces, they will harden but not adhere to the pieces. How would I install a Snap-N-Trac system on my boats windshield? The recommended method for a Plexiglas installation is to use #4 stainless steel pan head machine screws along with nylon lock nuts and nylon washers. You need a very sharp drill bit to drill the holes. When drilling do not force the hole, apply slight pressure allowing the drill bit to cut the hole. When installing the Trac base sections tighten the screws just enough for a secure fit. |
